Grey Recycling Bin: 2026 Accepted Materials
Knowsley expanded its recycling list from 1 April 2026. Older leaflets can therefore wrongly suggest that some currently accepted materials must still go in the maroon bin.

Knowsley Bin Presentation Rules: 7am, Kerbside and Closed Lids
By 7am
Use 7am as the normal presentation deadline unless a live council notice tells you to put bins out earlier.
Kerbside
Present it outside your property at the kerbside or normal agreed collection point where it is clearly visible.
Lid closed
Wheelie-bin lids must be fully closed. A raised lid can result in a rejected collection.
Bring it back
Retrieve containers from the kerbside by midnight on collection day and store them securely within the property.

Extra household rubbish beside a maroon bin will not normally be collected.
Extra garden waste beside a blue bin is also not part of the normal service.

Holiday collection arrangements can include unchanged dates, delayed collections or another revised pattern.
